"Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of His knowledge by us in every place."
2 Corinthians 2:14 Peace to you, dear brothers and sisters! Our hearts are full of gratitude to God for answered prayers, and for the fact that He in our days performs miracles. The Lord has carried out the desire of our hearts and a family from Ukraine, Nedyalkovy Albert and wife Yevgenia, have temporarily relocated to Cuba to spread the Good News, in which there is a great need among the Russian speaking population residing in the country.
Many sincere prayers were made, much work was done, and there were many concerns to be addressed regarding the family's move. We thank God for all those who participated in prayer and financial support. The group of brothers from America was planning to visit Cuba from January 7th to the 14th in order to meet the Nedyalkovy family and assist with their settlement. The group consisted of two brothers from Minnesota, one brother from Massachusetts and a pastor from Chicago. Everyone was to meet at a Florida airport and travel the rest of the way together, but due to the shooting at Ft Lauderdale airport all flights were canceled. The group was only able to arrive in Cuba the next day on January 8th, where they met by the newly arrived Nedyalkovy family. Praise be to God that He touched the hearts of the locals residing in the area - they were a great assistance to the Nedyalkovys, in helping with their arrival and settlement. They had met the family in the airport since the brothers from America were delayed in their arrival. Also due to their efforts, an apartment was found to reside in, and most importantly, a way to remain in Cuba legally, which would be to enroll the Nedyalkovy as students studying Spanish at the local university. On the following day with the accompaniment of our new sister, we visited the university with the intent to enroll the pair. God accompanied us in resolution of all administrative, immigration and residential issues. After lunch, an expectant group of people gathered for service and to get acquainted with the Nedyalkovy family. It was a blessed service and the new family was warmly met. There was a lot of discussions, and after the service during a conversation, a young soul repented with tears asking God for forgiveness of sins. On January 11th in the city of Matanzas, a group of believers was formed, consisting of two members of the сhurch (International Union of Churches of Evangelical Christians Baptists) and ten attendees. We also visited two Russian speaking groups in other cities that had learned of our arrival and had gathered to hear the Word of God preached. People listened attentively to the message of Salvation, they heard about how to live and please God, and about the internal spiritual clothing that Christ gives to those who follow Him. In the conclusion of services, many asked questions that were troubling them and after the final prayer, many people requested personal conversations to share their innermost worries. The people were glad to have such fellowship and asked for to be visited again. Dear friends, we hope that you will join us in this service to support the family of Albert and Yevgenia Nedyalkovy. Pray that the Lord will bless their difficult labor, and will fill them with the Holy Spirit, that He act in them and through them, bringing forth fruit in the hearts of the people among which they are laboring, and to whom they are witnesses of God's love and the great message of Salvation. Pray for those who will hear the word of God and who will desire to follow the Lord, and pray that the Word of God reaches many more unto salvation and eternal life. There are places where people are eager to hear the news of salvation, and missionaries are greatly needed to reach them. There is also an urgent need for an acquisition of a vehicle to serve as transport in Cuba. People live in different ends of the city and in different cities. Large distances are an obstacle to meeting for worship service. With the vehicle it will be possible to bring people to the services, and it will be simpler to visit believer groups in other cities. We ask all those who love the Lord to participate financially in this need. "I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings." I Corinthians 9:23 "but the righteous gives and does not hold back." Proverbs 21:26 |
